The "new" kiln project is creating many opportunities for me to learn more. I am hitting the books, looking for information (reassurance) that firing a gas kiln is doable...and checking out new glaze recipes...and thinking about clay bodies...and....and...
It's like having the chance to totally re-do a wardrobe! I am both elated and overwhelmed. Thankfully I have a decent library of pottery books to dig through~ master potters with loads of advice.
John Britt, Tom Coleman, Daniel Rhodes~ all wonderful books with yummy glaze recipes for me to give a try. BUT I now need to make a lot of pots so I can put them in the ginormous kiln I bought (and, btw, have not finished hooking up yet)! Back to that time thing....and that job that keeps interrupting me!
This is supposed to be fun, right?!
